Our Team

Build is critical infrastructure. We make it reliable.

EngFlow exists for a simple reason: at modern engineering scale, build is no longer “a developer tool.” It is shared, business-critical infrastructure. When it’s unmanaged, build becomes fragile, opaque, and expensive—outages block engineering, upgrades become high-risk events, flakiness erodes trust in CI, and costs rise in ways budgets can’t predict.

We build the platform for Build Management at AI Scale: the operating layer that makes build behave like production—reliable under sustained concurrency, safe to change, explainable when it fails, and governed on cost and policy.

Our Mission

Make large-scale build boring.

Production systems are expected to be reliable, observable, safe to evolve, and governed. Build deserves the same discipline, because it sits on the critical path of shipping software. Our mission is to make build operations predictable—replacing heroics with engineering.

What we believe

The world keeps pulling scale forward.

Software delivery is accelerating. Repos are growing. Toolchains are multiplying. Artifacts are getting larger. And AI is increasing change velocity and build volume—more permutations, more edge cases, more “contributors” triggering builds. In that environment, optimizing for “faster builds” is not enough. The core requirement is operational: can you run build as a service without outages, upgrade drama, and runaway cost?

Build Management at AI Scale is the answer—and we are building the category-defining platform for it.

What we do

EngFlow helps platform teams operate build like production.
EngFlow brings together execution, caching, and deep build telemetry into an operating layer that teams can run with production discipline. The result is not just speed, but certainty:

Reliability at sustained load

Build and test remain dependable under enterprise concurrency.

Safety for change

Upgrades, configuration changes, and scaling events become routine, not scary.

Forensics when something goes wrong

Failures become explainable with evidence—reducing time-to-root-cause and preventing repeat incidents.

Governance at AI scale

Visibility and controls that keep spend and policy aligned with how engineering actually works.

Our story

Build systems scale. Operations often don’t.

Many organizations reach a tipping point: what worked at a few hundred engineers becomes brittle at a few thousand. At that moment, the “build platform” becomes a single point of failure. Engineering experiences it as unpredictability: red CI signals you can’t trust, changes you can’t ship confidently, and costs that climb with volume.

EngFlow was created to close that gap: to bring the operational standards of production infrastructure to build infrastructure.

Founded by build experts

EngFlow was founded by leaders with deep roots in the build ecosystem.

Ulf Adams (CTO, Co-Founder) is a top Bazel contributor.
Helen Altshuler (CEO, Co-Founder) led Bazel customer adoption and co-created BazelCon.

This expertise shows up in the product: not just accelerating builds, but making build reliable, observable, and governable at sustained scale.

How we work

We optimize for outcomes, not slogans.
Customer reality beats theory
We build for heterogeneous environments: mixed toolchains, monorepo and polyrepo setups, migrations in flight, and “legacy artisan tools” alongside modern systems.
Operational discipline is part of product
Reliability, safe change, and observability are not add-ons. They are product outcomes.
Evidence over folklore
Build problems are often misdiagnosed because the system lacks telemetry. We invest in forensics so teams can debug, improve reliability, and reduce flakiness with data.
Developer experience matters
We care about DevEx because build sits in the daily loop. Governance should not require friction.

Who we serve

EngFlow is for engineering organizations where build is shared infrastructure:
